Dave Law's Fishing Forecast: The Beauty of Dry Falls Fishing

Posted: Updated:

This trip took me into Grant County, south of Banks Lake and Highway 2. Dry Falls Lake is located in the "Sun Basin," which averages 300 days of sunshine per year. I wasn't disappointed in the weather at all as temperatures rose to 85° during my afternoon foray into this majestic natural landscape. As for the fishing, it wasn't the prime time of the day to catch fish, but I managed to land a few & lose a few on my Olive Willy (a couple could have been large Browns). In between takes, I couldn't help but relish the absolute quiet and serenity while stripping line and paddling around a pool rimmed by 400 foot rock walls. You'll want to get out there soon, because the water is warming and the shallows are starting to reek a little. While your in the area, there are several other lakes to test your piscatorial prowess.
