COMMUNITY ALERT: Blood supply at INBC dangerously low! Donate & enter to win BMW

SPOKANE, Wash. - The Inland Northwest Blood Center is at critical levels for blood donations right now. During the summer, the blood supply gets dangerously low due to an increase in recreational accidents and a decrease of donors due to vacations and other activities. >>>DONATE TO BE ENTERED TO WIN A BMW>>>

One blood donation can potentially save three lives. So roll up YOUR sleeve and give blood TODAY at INBC to ensure blood is available when patients need it. Present to give blood at Inland Northwest Blood Center, and enter to win a BMW for a year thanks to a 1-year lease from Camp BMW.

QUICK FACTS

  • The Inland Northwest Blood Center is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization and is the only supplier of blood and blood products to more than 35 hospitals and medical centers.
  • Only 38% of the US population is eligible to donate blood, but less than 10% actually do.
  • Four blood types: A, B, AB and O. O negative is the universal donor and used for infants. The rarest blood type is the one that is not on the shelf when it is needed.

  • 200. The number of people needed to give blood EVERY day, despite a holiday.
  • 56. The number of days in between donations for whole blood.
  • 35. Percent of blood supply comes from students, who are on summer vacation.
  • 16. The youngest age you can donate (with parental consent). Must be at least 120 pounds.
