Two people extricated from wreckage following crash along Old Palouse Highway

Posted: Updated:
SPOKANE COUNTY, Wash. - Two young men are in the hospital after the car they were traveling in crashed off of Old Palouse Highway.

Spokane County Sheriffs Deputies and Spokane County Firefighters say the car veered off the road on Old Palouse Highway, south of 57th Ave., swung around, and hit a tree in the ditch. The back of the car completely caved in.

Firefighters removed the minors from the car and both appeared to be alert and conscious in the car. One might have a broken arm.

Friends in another car saw whole thing and called 911.

Deputies explained that the skid marks, or critical speed scuffs on the road, indicate that speed was certainly a factor.  Deputies also suspect alcohol to be a factor in the crash at this time.
