Missoula Marathon Organizers Seek More Volunteers

Posted: Updated:
MISSOULA - Missoula Marathon organizers say they need about 200 more volunteers before race day.

Missoula Marathon Race Director Anders Brooker says they need about 1,000 volunteers throughout the race weekend.

Brooker says past volunteers report having a motivating experience watching the race, and they enjoyed being a part of the major community event.

They help hand out race packets, T-shirts, water and other duties.

He says about 7,000 runners will participate in the 5K, half marathon and full marathon the weekend of July 11.

"To come to Missoula, it's not always an easy trip, and one of the reasons they come back for our race is the volunteers, they love that the city of Missoula gets so behind our race, and they love the volunteers, so if people can come out and help out, we'd sure appreciate it," Brooker said.
