RICHLAND, WA - The high school basketball season is still several months away, but it's been a busy week for the Richland High girls basketball team.  The Lady Bombers are hosting their annual basketball camp for 3rd grade to 8th grade girls at Art Dawald Gymnasium this week.

The players are teaching the young players the same system and skills that are implemented in Lady Bomber basketball.  Coach Cindy McCoy says that includes foot-work, being coachable, and being a good team-mate.  She also says it helps her players understand both their roles as players, and what it's like to share knowledge as a coach.

"It's really good for the players, our players work at camp, so they're having to teach what we're trying to teach them as well, so they're seeing it from a coaching standpoint, having to say it over and over. So it's good for players to be teaching these younger kids as they're coming up through, what it is to be a Bomber," McCoy said.

The week-long camp started on Monday and wrapped up on Friday.
