Policy reviewed after ferry worker accusations

Posted: Updated:

SEATTLE (AP) - The Washington State Department of Transportation may review employment policies and hiring practices after a ferry worker was accused of photographing girls on the Tillicum ferry.

KING-TV reports (http://is.gd/r5HpX9 ) the worker, Steven Daily, died over the weekend while in federal custody.

The 50-year-old Port Orchard man had pleaded guilty to possessing child porn in 2009. He was back in custody after deputies received a report he was taking photos of girls in early July, which was a violation of his parole.

The transportation department has rules and policies about disclosing arrests and court action if they concern something that happened on ferry property or could affect a worker's assigned duties.
