Posted: Updated:
KENNEWICK, WA -  One of the most dangerous stretches of road for drivers in Kennewick should be a little safer now.

City crews turned on a new traffic light at Columbia Center Boulevard and Rio Grande Avenue on Thursday. Kennewick Police said that area between Quinault Avenue and Canal Drive has the highest rate of accidents in the city.

The new light is paid for by a grant through the Department of Transportation. There are also some new improvements for pedestrians at the intersections. There is a new flashing beacon, signage and crosswalk markings.
