The reigning Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks were without an integral cog in their offense when they opened up training camp at the Virginia Mason Athletic Center in Renton, Wash. on Friday, July 25.

According to Marshawn Lynch's former teammate and Super Bowl Media Day mouthpiece, Michael Robinson, the Seahawks' star running back might not be in attendance when the rest of his team shows up tomorrow. He's looking for a bigger contract, boss.

“Marshawn Lynch just called me, we just talked,” Robinson said on NFL Network’s “Inside Training Camp” earlier today. “He said he will be holding out from training camp this year with the Seahawks.”

UPDATE: Lynch has now missed the first weekend of activities in Renton and reports from ESPN indicate Lynch will now lose more than the $30,000 per day he has been being fined for missing training camp should he hold out until day six.

"Starting with the sixth day, a player is subject to losing 15 percent of his signing bonus. For Lynch, that’s $900,000," reported ESPN.com's Terry Blount. "He was paid a $6 million bonus when he signed his four-year contract in 2012." Read more here: http://es.pn/1rZbCAN

Reports earlier this summer indicated that Lynch was unhappy with his current contract and planned to miss out on mini-camp dates, but the All-Pro ended up joining the team, though he didn't participate in any on-field activities with what head coach Pete Carroll called an ankle injury.
Lynch is scheduled to make a base salary of $5-million in the third season of a four-year $31-million contract he signed with the Seahawks in 2012.

The Kanasas City Chiefs also just faced a hold out situation with their own 2013 First Team All-Pro RB Jamaal Charles. The situation didn't last long, with the Chiefs and Charles agreeing to a two-year contract extension worth $18-million according to ESPN and NFL.com later that day.

Seattle fans and Lynch will hope he and the Seahawks can come together in similar fashion before all of Beast Mode's money goes circling down the drain.
