WINDSTORM 2014: Husband's Ashes Stolen From Riverside Village Home

Posted: Updated:
RIVERSIDE, Wash. - Edie Lloyd's home in Riverside Village survived the disaster two weeks ago.

But another storm blew through town last Saturday, and this time her home wasn't spared. A tree fell through the roof. So Lloyd packed up and left.

But then things got worse.

“It was devastating to come home and find out someone has been here,” Lloyd said.

Lloyd was burglarized, and something irreplaceable was stolen – her late husband's ashes. She lost Bud Lloyd 10 years ago.

“I can't understand why anyone would take that,” she said.

Bud's cremated remains were in a container in her bedroom closet. Now they're gone.

When KHQ spoke with the 70-year-old widow today, she made a simple plea. She's not asking for everything that was taken. She just wants the love of her life back.

“He's not good to anybody but me,” she said. “Please return him. He needs to come home.”
