Cle Elum Ridge Fire, WA - Burning 10 miles SW of Cle Elum, WA. Started on 8/7. 400 acres.

Rowena Fire, OR - Burning 8 miles NW of The Dalles, OR. Started on 8/5. 2,645 acres(+745 ac). 35% containment. Active fire behavior. Values at risk include: residences, structures, commercial property, natural resources and scenic values. Level 3 evacuations.

Devil’s Elbow Complex Fire, WA - Burning 15 miles NE of Nespelem, WA. Started on 8/03. 8,046 acres (+0ac). 2% containment. Values at risk include: cultural resources, commercial timber. Includes Central Peak, Deadhorse, Cub Creek, Timm Brothers. Central Peak and Deadhorse fires have merged.

Snag Canyon Fire, WA - Burning 10 miles N of Ellensburg, WA. Started on 8/02. Cause: lightning. 8,396 acres(+1,990 ac). 15% containment. Active fire behavior. Level 1 and 2 evacuations. Structures lost. Values at risk include: structures, rangeland, recreation and high tension powerlines.

Chiwaukum Complex Fire, WA - Burning 9 miles NW of Leavenworth, WA. Started on 7/15. Cause: lightning.13,739 acres. 35% containment. Active fire behavior with group torching. Values at risk include: residences, structures, railway and two major utility corridors. Level 1 and 2 evacuations. Includes Chiwaukum Creek, Kelly Mountain, Hansel, Shoofly and Alpine fires.

Duncan Fire, WA - Burning 30 miles NW of Entiat, WA. Started on 7/16. Cause: lightning. 7,318 acres. 11% containment. Active fire behavior. Values at risk include primary residences.

South Fork Complex Fire, OR - Burning 20 miles S of John Day, OR. Started on 7/31. Cause: lightning. 41,830 acres (+5,865 ac). 25% containment. Active fire behavior. Values at risk include: ranches, T&E species, communication site, cultural and recreation resources. Includes Murderers South Creek 39,531 acres (+5,312 ac) and Buck Fork 2,299 acres (+553 ac).

Little Bridge Creek Fire, WA - Burning 7 miles S of Winthrop, WA. Started on 8/02. Cause: lightning. 1,510 acres (+785 ac). 0% containment. Moderate fire behavior, group torching, short range spotting. Values at risk include residences and communities.

Upper Falls Fire, WA - Burning 17 miles N of Winthrop, WA. Started on 8/3. 4,426acres.(+126 ac). 0% containment. Moderate fire behavior. Values at risk include: residences, structures, private and public lands, commercial timber, recreation, and wildlife habitat. Managed as part of the Carlton Complex organization.

Carlton Complex Fire, WA - Burning 7 miles S of Twisp, WA. Started on 7/14. Caused by lightning. 256,108acres (+0ac). 91% containment. Isolated interior torching. Values at risk include: private and public lands, campgrounds, powerlines, habitat. Level 1 and 2 evacuations. Includes Stokes Road, French Creek,Golden Hike, Cougar Flats and Rising Eagle Road.

Bighorn Fire, WA - Burning 5 miles S of Ellensburg, WA. 312 acres. The fire is lined. No additional information.

Lone Mountain Fire, WA - Burning 3 miles N of Stehekin, WA. Started on 7/14. Caused by lightning. 2,389 acres (+0ac). 30% containment. Steep inaccessible terrain. Stephen Mather Wilderness. Moderate fire behavior, torching with short crown runs.

(AP) - Authorities say a shooting spree that left eight people dead in Mississippi began with a call regarding a domestic dispute.      The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation said in a news release Sunday that three female victims and a Lincoln County sheriff's deputy were killed.

    RIVERDALE, Utah (AP) - A 39-year-old Utah woman has been arrested after she allegedly locked her two young children in her car's trunk while she went inside a Wal-Mart store to shop. Riverdale police say witnesses heard the children ages 2 and 5 making noise and saw the car shaking, got the older child to pull the emergency latch and called 911.

    SPOKANE, Wash. - Jack Stockton, the former owner of Jack and Dan's Bar and Grill, and father of Hall of Fame basketball player John Stockton, passed away Saturday at the age of 89. Hennessey Funeral Home will be handling the funeral arrangements.

    SPOKANE, Wash. - Fire crews were called to a fire at an apartment complex in the 2500 block of E. Euclid Ave. Sunday afternoon. Firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the fire, but two apartments did sustain damage. No one was home at the time and no injuries were reported.
