Vandalism reported after vigil for Missouri man

Posted: Updated:
FERGUSON, Mo. - Tensions over the shooting of an unarmed black teenager by police over the weekend exploded Sunday night in suburban St. Louis.

Some incidents of looting and vandalism have been reported since a few thousand people had crammed the street Sunday night for the vigil for 18-year-old Michael Brown, who died a day earlier.

An Associated Press reporter saw some people looting a convenience store. Other witnesses reported seeing car windows kicked out.

Several dozen protesters sat down in street in a face-off with police in riot gear. Police made no move toward them.

There were no immediate reports of injuries. St. Louis county officials did not immediately return calls seeking comment.

Police say Brown was shot multiple times after a scuffle involving the officer and two people.
