SPOKANE, Wash. - Dan Kleckner's Golf Classic kicked off on Friday at the Sun Dance Golf Course. 

The Dan Kleckner Golf Classic benefits the Wounded Warriors project, which helps wounded service members by providing unique and direct programs. 

Friday is Military Appreciation Day at Sun Dance Golf Course, which gives active military and veterans the chance to participate in a four person scramble. 

Following a day of golf there will be a tournament BBQ dinner from 6:00-7:30pm, hosted by Texas Roadhouse, with live music featuring KHQ's Sean Owsely, at Gus Johnson Ford on E. Sprague. 

The main tournament is on Saturday and features a four person scramble with start times at 7:30pm and 1:00pm at Sun Dance Golf Course. 

Following the tournament there will be an awards party at 6:30pm at Northern Quest Resort & Casino. 

Again, the proceeds benefit a great cause, The Wounded Warrior Project. CLICK HERE to find out more about their organization.

    SPOKANE, Wash.- Friends and family are devastated and heartbroken over the death of 28-year-old Corey Ward, who was stabbed and slashed by a killer. Ward did not survive and so far, Spokane police haven't made any arrests. It happened on May 17 just before midnight in the 2400 block of West Cleveland in Northwest Spokane.

    CLEARWATER BEACH, Fla. - A 30-year-old Florida man was fined $118 and ordered to stay away from a park after police say the man climbed on playground equipment and yelled at children in the area about where babies come from. Otis Dawayne Ryan was taken into custody on a charge of disorderly conduct around 3 p.m. Sunday afternoon in Clearwater Beach, according to the Tampa Bay Times.

(AP) - A SpaceX rocket launched from California has successfully deployed five communications satellites.    The deployment of the commercial Iridium Communication's satellites Tuesday followed the release of a pair of U.S.-German science satellites designed to study the movement of water masses across the Earth.

    Spokane County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a call Monday morning on E. Woolard Rd. in North Spokane County after being informed a male had made threats to kill one of his horses if his ex-girlfriend didn’t get back together with him. Deputies were extremely disturbed when they found a deceased horse on the property. One of the horse’s front ankles was tied to the fence with a short rope and another rope was cinched around its neck.
