Richland Post Office Will Relocate to New Location

RICHLAND, WA- The Richland Main post office will open at a new location on Monday.

Saturday and Sunday will be the last days for residents to empty out their P.O. boxes.

The post office in the federal building on 815 Jadwin Avenue will close for business on Saturday.  Mail will continue to be delivered to the main location on Saturday.

The relocation of the post office was a result of a decline in revenue and mail traffic.  The U.S. Postal Service recently reported they lost nearly $2 billion dollars in revenue in just 3 months.  This has forced them to close some locations across the nation.

“We're down-sizing our postal facilities throughout the country because of our declining mail volume and the subsequent loss of postal revenue, so we didn't need the space we had at the federal building on Jadwin but only needed a smaller area,” said Ernie Swanson, U.S. Post Office representative.

The new location will open Monday at 639 Cullum Avenue.
