MOSES LAKE, Wash. - UPDATE: MOSES LAKE, Wash. - The suspect of a narcotics investigation was shot by a Moses Lake Police Officer on Friday, September 5th. The shooting occurred during the investigation in the parking lot of Leprekon Harvest Foods at 2709 W. Broadway. Four officers were on scene at the time of the shooting. After the suspect was shot, officers recovered 5.7 pounds of Methamphetamine from a nearby residence.

At this time, the suspect remains in critical condition at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. The name of the suspect is being withheld for the moment to ensure everyone in the family is notified.

This incident is being investigated by the Central Basin Investigative Team, a multi-agency team utilizing detectives from the Grant County Sheriff's Office, Adams County Sheriff's Office, Washington State Patrol, Ephrata Police Department, Othello Police Department and the Quincy Police Department. No detectives from the Moses Lake Police Department are being used in the current investigation as the officer involved is from this agency. The Central Basin Investigative Team was formed in 2009 to investigate officer involved shootings, major accidents, major uses of force, and to assist in Homicide investigations.

Friday morning around 10:55am there was an officer involved shooting in Moses Lake in the parking lot of Leprekon Harvest Foods at 2709 W. Broadway.  Grant County Sheriff's Office spokesman Kyle Foreman told KHQ that while the Moses Lake Police Department was conducting an investigation, the suspect in question posed a threat to officers. It is not yet known what that threat was.

The suspect was shot by at least one officer and was transported to Samaritan Hospital and then transported to Harborview in Seattle. The condition of the suspect is listed as "stable." 

Multiple agencies are on scene investigating including the Adam's County Sheriff's Office. Foreman said one suspect was shot by a Moses Lake Police Officer. The condition of the suspect is unknown at this time.

Leprekon Foods remains open but seven other businesses in an adjacent strip mall, including Snap Fitness, are all closed while the investigation continues.

    Authorities say multiple people have been shot in northeast Maryland in what the FBI is describing as an "active shooter situation."    The Harford County Sheriff's Office tweeted that there was a shooting Thursday morning in the Perryman area that involves "multiple victims."
