Q6 Cooks: Banana bread french toasty recipe

BANANA BREAD

  • 1 ¼ cup sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ cup softened butter
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 ½ cup mashed ripened bananas
  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1 tsp baking soda

Pre-heat oven to 350 F. Mix softened butter and sugar; add 2 eggs, ½ cup of Greek plain yogurt, and 1 tsp vanilla extract. Stir in flour, baking soda, nuts and salt. Pour batter in desired pans. Bake one hour and 20 minutes. Test with toothpick, if clean, cake is done.

FRENCH TOAST

  • 6 eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • ½ tsp nut meg
  • ½ tsp pumpkin spice
  • 1/3 cup sugar

Whisk eggs, milk, vanilla and sugar. Add spices. Heat skillet to a medium, dip banana bread into batter and brown on both sides. Garnish with powder and syrup if desired.

FRUIT-MEDLEY ON BED OF PLAIN GREEK YOGURT.

  • ½ cup blueberries
  • ½ cup strawberries
  • ½ cup diced oranges
  • ¼ Plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 Tbsp brown sugar/cinnamon
  • 1 sprig of mint leaves

Combine desired fruits, such as berries, apples, even bananas. Squeeze fresh orange juice over fruits. Layer a bed of plain Greek yogurt. Sprinkle with brown/cinnamon sugar. Garnish with fruit.

CANDY BACON

Thick cut bacon sprinkled with brown sugar. Bake 325-degrees F for 20-25 minutes to desired doneness.
