SPOKANE, Wash. -

On Thursday some kids in Spokane, who are blind, took a trip to the Ringling Brothers Barnum and Bailey Circus. Many of them did something they'd never done before: touch a real life elephant! They also met clowns, tried on costumes and were entertained by some of the other acts at "The Greatest Show on Earth!"

We talked with Janice Jordan, who's daughter was at this touch tour. She described just how meaningful this program was, saying, "If you think about it, being blind for her, this is the first time she's had anything like this. She has no perception of how big an elephant is, or how sparkly a costume is, or how high they are up in the air. Everything about the circus is all about sight, so today they put this together for us so that she could touch and feel and have something to relate to as far as what we're seeing. We're just so thankful."

We also spoke with Bee Yang, who is blind. He told us being able to do this, touch and feel these circus staples, was empowering. He was also pretty pumped to be able to interact with the elephant: This was awesome. I've never been to a circus before. Just feeling all the different costumes and props, and especially the elephant! I mean when you think circus you automatically think elephant!"

The Circus is at the Spokane Memorial Arena until Sunday, September 14th.

SPOKANE, Wash. - From the outside, the Repeat Boutique looks like a lot of other thrift shops in Spokane.  Inside, some might describe the stuff for sale as old, used, discarded garbage -- but store manager CJ Curtis sees its potential. And just like the goods in her shop, CJ is on her way to a new life, one far from the one she once lived.

SPOKANE, Wash. - "He told me to pull over, and my jaw just dropped," a Spokane woman, who says a fake police officer tried to pull her over, doesn't want to be named. In fear, this could happen again. "It really scared me and kind of threw me off that night. I don't even want to drive by myself anymore," she said. She tells me that she was driving around North Spokane at night on her way home from work.
