SPOKANE COUNTY, Wash. - The Spokane County Regional Animal Protection Service (SCRAPS) has charged a woman with multiple counts of animal cruelty after the largest animal seizure they've ever had.

Dorothy Osgood will be charged with four counts of Second Degree Animal Cruelty and two counts of Confinement in an Unsafe Manner following the seizure of nearly 150 animals from her property in north Spokane County in September. A citizen called SCRAPS concerned about the animals, and when officers arrived, they observed several dead animals, animals without food or water, or animals with dirty water containing green algae or feces. The property was covered in garbage, hazardous debris and animal waste, according to SCRAPS.

SCRAPS seized 65 rabbits, 73 chickens, 2 turkeys, 4 goats, 1 pig, 3 dogs, and 1 rat.

The animals were adopted out shortly after the seizure at the Spokane County Fairgrounds.
