Man arrested after stealing car from dealership

Posted: Updated:
SPOKANE, Wash. -

On Wednesday night Spokane Police responded to a welfare check of a man who was reportedly having hallucinations near Sprague and Napa. By Thursday morning, that man would be in the Spokane County Jail for Burglary and Theft.

Police said when they arrived on scene, they were told the suspect, identified as 25-year-old Tyler Goodman, was inside a car dealership, Becker Buick. Police say Goodman has apparently stolen a car from the dealership and then crashed through one of the roll-up garage doors of the dealership.

As police arrived, Goodman apparently still had the car in gear and it began rolling towards Sprague. One of the officers parked his car in front of Goodman's to prevent him from heading into traffic. Goodman then got out of the car and was taken into custody.

Goodman was arrested for Burglary, Theft, as well as an unrelated warrant for DUI.

His brokenhearted family reached out to KHQ's Hayley Guenthner with a letter asking for his case to be featured in our Q6 Cold Case series. The day Paul vanished started out so wonderful. "It was a happy day," said Paul's aunt Georgine Glatt.
