SPOKANE, Wash. - For the past three days, Rangers tested their combat skills in a simulated urban environment, similar to those they might find during combat missions, and Spokane heard it.

The calls began coming into our newsroom Tuesday night, quieted down on Wednesday, and then Thursday night, the calls, emails and Facebook messages began pouring in again.

"Does anybody know what was going on with the planes flying low and shutting off their lights?"

"Anyone out there seeing stealth bombers flying low, quiet, and slow over Spokane tonight? I live out in Colbert and they flew right over highway 395 at Hatch and circled out and away toward the northwest."

Just a few of the questions we received. And we don't blame you. Hearing that happening so low over the city in the early morning hours would be cause for concern for anyone.

The exercises are conducted periodically to maintain a high level of combat readiness for the Rangers. Fairchild said some of the aircrafts involved included Little Birds (AH-6), Black Hawks (MH-60) and Chinooks (MH-47); Other airplanes such as AC-130 Hercules, CV-22 Ospreys and C-17 Globemaster III planes were also participating to provide close air support. Fairchild said ahead of time they knew the training would be disruptive, but they said they were taking every measure to reduce the amount of noise associated with the training.

The training wrapped up on Thursday.

And based on the number of emails and phone calls we got, we're assuming that many of you captured some of the training on video. If so, and you'd like to share, please email it to newstips@khq.com or post it on our Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/KHQLocalNews

And if you'd like to talk about it with KHQ Local News Reporter Gabe Cohen, please call: 509-385-8218.

SPOKANE, Wash. - From the outside, the Repeat Boutique looks like a lot of other thrift shops in Spokane.  Inside, some might describe the stuff for sale as old, used, discarded garbage -- but store manager CJ Curtis sees its potential. And just like the goods in her shop, CJ is on her way to a new life, one far from the one she once lived.

SPOKANE, Wash. - "He told me to pull over, and my jaw just dropped," a Spokane woman, who says a fake police officer tried to pull her over, doesn't want to be named. In fear, this could happen again. "It really scared me and kind of threw me off that night. I don't even want to drive by myself anymore," she said. She tells me that she was driving around North Spokane at night on her way home from work.
