STEVENS COUNTY, Wash. -

NEW INFO:

KHQ has just confirmed that Dr. Craig Morgenstern is now in Spokane County Jail. He has transferred over from Stevens County Jail as of  7 p.m. on Thursday night.

Dr. Craig Morgenstern, the Spokane VA emergency room physician arrested on a charge of Child Rape in Stevens County was in court again Thursday, but this time for possession of child pornography.

The Stevens County Sheriff's Office told KHQ they arrested Morgenstern again Wednesday night after they found child pornography during a search of his home.

Morgenstern was arrested on Monday after a 13-year-old boy told the Sheriff's Office he woke up to Morgenstern performing sexual acts on him Friday night. The victim told detectives Morgenstern gave him some hot chocolate that made him sleepy. Test results showed the victim had sedatives in his system. Morgenstern was arrested, but was released on bond under the restrictions of not having any contact with the victim, and also to not go near any place where children would frequent.

Following his arrest, Stevens County Sheriff Kendle Allen told KHQ detectives believed there were additional victims out there, and since that announcement, Sheriff Allen said his department has received at least two dozen calls from concerned families that had contact with Morgenstern.

As detectives continued to search Morgenstern's home, court documents said they found child pornography pictures on an "electronic device," so Morgenstern was arrested again Wednesday night.

Facing a judge Thursday afternoon, Morgenstern listened as the prosecution asked the judge for him to be held on $1 million bail.

Prosecutors told the judge on Thursday they have evidence showing Morgenstern likely produced child porn since 2008 and video evidence was found in Morgenstern's home showing the 13-year-old boy from the suspected rape that took place on Friday, as well as three more victims.

Prosecutors also argued that Morgenstern was "actively sabotaging law enforcement's investigation" when he "dumped a laptop on his way to turn himself in."

The judge in the case order a $250,000 bond for Morgenstern, plus electronic home monitoring.
