SPOKANE, Wash. - The trial against a Spokane County Sheriff's deputy accused of insurance fraud began on Monday.

Jeremy Jeske has been on administrative leave since he was charged with two counts of False Claims or Proof earlier this summer. Prosecutors from the Attorney General's office say Jeske submitted false claims for property insurance coverage by obtaining coverage then reporting a loss that happened prior to him getting the insurance coverage.

Jeske is a 15 year veteran of the Sheriff's Department. His trial is expected to take all week.
