KHQ.COM - A New York cab driver is considering himself a "lucky guy" after he happened to pick up Tom Hanks for a ride. Originally, the cab driver denied Hanks a ride because his shift was almost over but decided to give him a ride anyway "cause hey — I got a conscience," he said. The driver didn't recognize Hanks at first because he was wearing a hat that nearly covered his eyes. When he started to recognize his voice though, he turned around at a stop light to see if it could really be true. When he realized it was indeed Mr. Hanks, he yelled, "Wiiiiiiilsooooon!"

Hanks apparently thought it was hilarious and then started calling the cab driver, "Mr. Ferrari" because he was wearing a Ferrari shirt and Ferrari hat. The man dropped Hanks off and that was that but he continued to tell the story of his celebrity encounter to everyone who rode in his cab, long after the event.

He would even show those in the back seat the photo he took with Hanks. Some of the people he told the story to actually knew Tom Hanks. He would tell those people, "Will you please tell Mr. Hanks that Mr. Ferrari says hello?"

The messages obviously made it back to Tom Hanks because one day, the cab driver received a random text message inviting him to attend the Broadway show Hanks was in called, "Lucky Guy."

The cab driver says that was the craziest part of it all. "The name of his show was ‘Lucky Guy.' How crazy is that? Cause that was me. A lucky guy!” He got to go to the show with his lady friend and also got to meet Tom Hanks again backstage.

When Hanks came out of his dressing room, he stopped, looked at the cab driver, and said..."Mr. Ferrari!"

We asked our friends on Facebook to share the stories and photos of their celebrity encounters and we got quite a response and some great pictures. To share you celebrity encounter with us, click here: http://tinyurl.com/qadoj6o
