SPOKANE, Wash. -
Do you believe in ghosts? A lot of people do. Spokane is hundreds of years old and rich in history. Some say spirits haunt a lot of the landmarks we see every day.

In 1889 Spokane was the sight of a massive fire. In 36 hours, 32 square blocks of Spokane were left homeless, and many were killed. Hundreds of downtown businesses were also destroyed. Chet Caskey is a Ghostologist. He makes his living telling the tales of Spokane's past, like the Great Fire of 1889 for example.

Caskey took Stephanie Vigil to one of the haunted landmarks in Spokane, the Bing Crosby Theater. It used to be called The Clemmor, and Chet says it's filled with paranormal activity. He tells one story of two Lewis and Clark seniors who were supposed to meet at The Clemmor, then run away to Seattle to live happily ever after. She showed up, he didn't. She was heart-broken and committed suicide... but she's been seen ever since. As recently as earlier in 2014. Stage manager Davis Creekmore is alone at the theater a lot. We asked him if he feels this young woman's presence. "Oh yes," Creekmore says. "Especially up in the balcony, that lady waiting for her date. I definitely feel her presence."

Candess Campbell also accompanied us to the trip to The Bing. She makes her living as a medium and says in the boiler room of the Bing she felt the presence of many spirits. "As soon as I got here I immediately got hit. Somebody died her of tuberculosis." We turned off our cameras at one point, so she could help a soul cross over. "The energy is really prideful," Campbell says. "They're just so happy they worked here and have been here."

If you'd like to read more about the landmarks haunted by ghosts and other dark places in Spokane, Chet has written a book called "Haunted Spokane."
