    SPOKANE, Wash. - Spokane Police are investigating the death of a man who reportedly shot himself in the head during sex. In a search warrant filed Nov. 8 in Spokane Superior Court, a detective wrote that around 2 a.m. on Nov. 4, police were called to a home in the 7800 block of North Morton Ave. after a woman said her partner shot himself in the head.

    SANTA CLARA, Calif. - Police in California are looking for a missing Spokane man who went missing during the San Francisco 49ers game Monday night.  32-year-old Ian Powers was last seen at the game with his family Monday night. He went to the restroom alone late in the game and hasn't been seen since, police told local media.

    GUNTERSVILLE, Ala. - Officials in an Alabama county have a financial mess to wipe up after the sheriff's department mistakenly ordered 24,000 extra rolls of toilet paper. WAFF-TV reports the Marshall County Sheriff's Office mistakenly spent $22,000 on toilet paper and another $9,000 for 450 cases of trash bags. That's a big problem, because its entire budget for janitorial supplies for next year is only $15,000.

    A top U.S. health official is pledging to try to ban menthol from regular cigarettes, outlaw flavors in all cigars and tighten rules regarding the sale of most flavored versions of e-cigarettes.    Scott Gottlieb of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration disclosed the plans on Thursday.    The move represents a major step to further push down U.S. smoking rates, which have been falling for decades.

    A food distributor with deep roots in Minnesota has been sold to South Korea's largest food company.    The Schwan's Co. is well known for home deliveries made by its gold trucks. The companies released a statement Thursday saying CJ CheilJedang will pay $1.8 billion for an 80 percent stake in Schwan's and gain control of its businesses that serve restaurants, grocery stores and other retailers.
