SPOKANE, Wash. -

Friday: We wake up to a cloudy start to our day, but plenty of moisture is sitting just over the Cascades. We'll see scattered rain showers moving west-east through the day. As of right now it does look like there will be a chance for some light rain while the kiddos are trick-or-treating. High: 58°

Satellite and Radar: A large cold front is just starting to move east of the Cascades on satellite and radar. Its this front that'll bring light rain today, and cooler temps through the weekend.

Futurecast: Latest models are showing another surge of moisture moving in from the south for Saturday. Several models show rain falling in extreme E. Washington, across the Panhandle and into W. Montana through much of the day. Right now Spokane looks to be in the mix...but there is a chance it shifts to the east of us.

7-Day Forecast: Expect cooler temperatures through the weekend after Friday's cold front moves through. High temperatures Saturday and Sunday might not make it into the 50s. Expect a mostly dry day on Sunday and Monday before more rain arriving Monday night and Tuesday.

A pet translator could be available in the next 10 years

What's the first thing you would do if you had a pet translator and you could understand your dog or cat? I'd probably immediately let my cat know how sorry I am for stepping on her tail all those times. Recent advances in artificial intelligence and machine learning suggest the dream of communicating with your pets could become a reality.

The event takes place in March and raises money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. While there, Matt met someone who had a story he didn’t expect to hear. “We normally don't get to...
