OKANOGAN COUNTY, Wash. - A former librarian at Tonasket High School accused of having sex with an 18-year-old student will avoid jail time in a plea bargain approved on Friday.

Under the deal approved by Okanogan County Superior Court Judge Chris Culp, 37-year-old Elizabeth Kinkade will serve nine months on electronic home monitoring. Judge Culp said he approved the agreement because the 18-year-old boy did not want to pursue charges.

Kinkade was arrested back in May after she told deputies her husband fired a gun outside of their home when she told him she was having an affair with a student. Kinkade was charged with Sexual Misconduct and fired by the school board.
