SPOKANE, Wash. - Friday morning, the Numerica Credit Union in downtown Spokane was robbed, and the FBI believes it is the same man who robbed banks in Seattle and Olympia earlier this year, dubbed "The Roscoe Bandit."

The FBI believes the man who robbed Numerica Friday morning is responsible for three other bank robberies:

  • Monday, July 28, 2014 – HomeStreet Bank on East Broadway, Seattle, WA
  • Tuesday, July 29, 2014 – Wells Fargo Bank on Third Avenue, Seattle, WA
  • Thursday, October 30, 2014 – Timberland Bank on Washington Street SE, Olympia, WA
  • Friday, November 7, 2014 – Numerica Credit Union on W. Riverside Avenue, Spokane, WA

Witnesses to Friday's robbery in Spokane described the man as black, 6'2" and in his 50's. Witnesses in robberies on the west side of the state have described him as being in his late 30's.

The FBI has nicknamed the suspect "The Roscoe Bandit" because of the apparently long-barreled revolver he is armed with. The nickname is based on an early 19th century nickname for a handgun.

Anyone with information as to the identity or whereabouts of the Roscoe Bandit is asked to call police immediately. The FBI said if you see him, it is very important to not approach him.

Tips can be provided anonymously to Crime Check in the Spokane area, at 509-456-2233, or to the FBI in Washington state, at 206-622-0460.

In addition, callers to Crime Stoppers in the Seattle area, at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), are eligible to receive a cash reward of up to $1000.00 if the information given leads to an arrest and charge of the person(s) involved.

The FBI is working with the Olympia Police Department and the Spokane Police Department to identify and locate this individual.
