KHQ - Al Roker will attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the longest uninterrupted live broadcast weather report. Al is shooting for a whopping 34 hours! It all starts Nov. 12th at 7pm (PT). The event will be live streamed on KHQ.COM so you can watch and you are also being asked to participate.

You can help Al out by tweeting weather questions from your "neck of the woods" to Al using the hashtag #Rokerthon, as the event is being called. You are also asked to tweet predictions using the same hashtag for the following things:

  • How many times do you think will Al say "your neck of the woods" in 34 hours?
  • How many selfies will Al take in 34 hours?
  • How many ginger root drinks (Al's drink of choice) will Al consume in 34 hours?
  • How many bathroom breaks will Al take in 34 hours?

There are rules Al must follow for the "Rokerthon" as well and they are as follows:

1.) Al must talk about weather for the entirety of the time, outside of breaks.

2.) He can talk about current weather, and weather seven days in the past or seven days ahead.

3.) For every 60 minutes completed, he can take a five-minute break. The breaks can carry over and be combined, so if he goes four hours without stopping, he can take a 20-minute break.

4.) Two independent witnesses must also be there at all times.

KHQ will also be participating in the "Rokerthon." Tune in to the Wake Up Show on Thursday, November 13th to watch Al Roker give a forecast for Spokane!
