SPOKANE, Wash. -

The first round of winter weather has blasted through the region, and Mayor Condon says the city is prepared for more.

Condon says clearing roads for hospitals is one of the biggest priorities, along with arterials and bus routes.

It's an even snow season this year, so people need to park on the even side of the street when plows are coming down the road.

Other ways you can help the city's efforts are moving your car off arterials and bus routes within six hours of a Stage 1 snow event.

That's when there's two inches of snow on the ground and four or more inches are expected to fall.

Even though many streets have deicer on them right now, the rain delutes it, so crews plan to go full force when the rain starts to freeze.

"If we can get out pre the ice and get deicer down that helps it until it delutes and we'll get back on it with deicer as much as we can. If it becomes a real problem we'll get our sanders out and put the sand on top," says Mark Serbousek, Spokane Streets Department Director.

MUMBAI - A surgical team in India successfully removed a massive brain tumor from a man Thursday, weighing over 4 pounds. It was a lengthy, nearly seven-hour procedure and doctors believe it could be the heaviest ever recorded.  The tumor, which protruded from the top of the man's skull, was so large that it seemed “like a head on top of another head,” Trimurti Nadkarni, head of the neurosurgery department at Nair Hospital, told the Indian Express.
