MOSES LAKE, Wash. -

It's not exactly a Cinderella story, but the Grant County sheriff's office says a man accused of burglarizing a Moses Lake, Washington, home and fleeing without his shoes has been arrested - and acknowledges the footwear is his.

The sheriff's office said Monday that a woman returning home on Friday evening entered through her garage and found a pair of unfamiliar shoes near the interior door. She then found a man hiding under a home office desk. She ran and called 911; the shoeless man fled.

With the help of a citizen's tip, deputies went to a neighboring home and found a 20-year-old man they arrested for investigation of residential burglary. The sheriff's office says when deputies showed the shoes to the man, he told them they were his.
