SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. -

A man from Spokane Valley faces felony charges after deputies say he caused a mobile home to explode last month.

Spokane County Sheriff's deputies arrested 24-year-old Jesse L. Wenzel on Friday for manufacturing a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school and for reckless burning.

Deputies say Wenzel had been making hash oil from marijuana inside a mobile home at the Greenacres Mobile Home Park on Sprague Ave., when the substances he was working with exploded.

Several people in the park heard the loud explosion, which destroyed the walls of unit No. 7. Luckily, no one was hurt.

Deputies say they found evidence of an extraction lab inside the blown out trailer, along with marijuana.

While possessing the pot is legal in Washington state, manufacturing hash oil is still considered a felony.
