Local vendors throw dream wedding for couple who will pay it forward

SPOKANE, Wash. -

You might remember Katy and John Larsen - they got engaged in May and KHQ was there at the Italian Kitchen for the occasion.

At this point, you may be wondering why KHQ was at this engagement? Well, it's because Pam Terpstra, of Belle Gardens, a beautiful wedding site in Deer Park, donated an entire wedding to the couple.

When Pam met John, he explained that Katy lost her father a few years earlier. Getting engaged was sad to talk about for a while due to the family's loss, but when John did decide to propose, Pam wanted to help.

She orchestrated an entire wedding, and got generous local vendors to donate their time and services to the September wedding, essentially paying it forward here in Spokane.

Now that the couple is happily married, they're making plans to pay it forward themselves, and are working on plans to build a Habitat for Humanity House in honor of Katy's late father, who was a volunteer with Habitat.

    CLE ELUM, Wash. - The Washington State Patrol has closed all lanes of westbound I-90 at Ellensburg due to a major crash involving 16 cars and three semi-trucks.  Trooper Brian Moore tweeted the crash happened about 3 miles east of Cle Elum.  Initial reports are that so far there are only minor injuries involved.  Motorists should expect "extended delays" according to Trooper Moore.

    GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. - A Gwinnett County, Georgia man is facing animal cruelty charges and possible deportation after footage of him and two men force feeding a goat cocaine and whiskey surfaced on social media.  Footage from the January 2, 2018 incident shows 28-year-old Sergio Palomares-Guzman holding the goat’s horns while another man inserted cocaine into the goat’s nostril.
