DALLAS, Texas -

UPDATE:

Alamo Drafthouse, the Dallas movie theater who announced because Sony pulled the release of The Interview, They would instead show Team America: World Police confirmed on Thursday via Twitter the showing has been canceled.

"We can confirm that the screening of TEAM AMERICA in Dallas was cancelled as the film was pulled from release. We are issuing refunds to those that purchased tickets," the theater announced on Twitter.

Several media outlets are reporting that Paramount has banned screenings of the film.

Previous Coverage:

While Sony may have pulled The Interview in the wake of hacker threats, there is a theater in Texas that isn't letting North Korea win. The Alamo Drafthouse is planning to show Team America: World Police in place of the James Franco and Seth Rogen film.

Team America: World Police is a 2004 film by South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone featuring an all-puppet cast, with former North Korea leader Kim Jong Il as the main villain. The film contains numerous musical numbers, and the theater is planning to turn the movie into a sing along and a quote-a-long, much like The Rocky Picture Horror Show

When Team America was released in 2004, North Korea had no official reaction to it. Kim Jong Il died in 2011, leaving his son, and The Interview target, Kim Jong Un in charge.

Kim Jong Un has been angry over The Interview since Sony began promoting it earlier this year. On Wednesday, the U.S. government linked the recent cyber attack on Sony to North Korea.

At this time, there is no word if any theaters locally will follow in the Texas theater's footsteps and show Team America in The Interview's place.

"Aaaameeeeerrrrriiiicccaaaa..... Aaaaammmeeeerrrriicccaaa... America! (You're on your own to finish the song from here :) )
