SPOKANE, Wash. -

“Every year we wonder if the gold coin will show up again, but since we don't know who the donor is we definitely can't count on it."

The wait is over. For the sixth year in a row, an anonymous donor has slipped a gold coin wrapped in a $100 bill into a Salvation Army red kettle.

The coin, a South African Kruggerand, contains one ounce of 22 carat gold and is worth about $1200.
