SPOKANE, Wash. -

Christmas is just two days away but that doesn't mean everyone is finished with their shopping.

Each year people wait until the very last minute to get their holiday shopping done, whether it's lack of time, no money until the last minute or just pure procrastination.

Several store owners throughout Spokane attested to the rush of last minute shoppers which is good for business, but can be bad if you're looking for something specific.

According to the National Retailers Association, this year shoppers are spending almost 5% more on the holiday season than in 2013.

Dan Morgan says he usually starts looking out for gifts he might want to buy about a month in advance, but this year he found himself out two days before Christmas looking for just the right purchase for his wife. "Some sort of jewelry or accessory, something nice like that."

Dan wasn't alone. Jen Richardson and her daughter, Ravenna out to make the big purchases with little time to spare. "I always laughed at people that did this and this year, it's me. It's terrible."

Despite time running out, you're not out of luck just yet. Many stores do have Christmas Eve hours so you can still complete your list.
