SPOKANE, Wash. - Just hours after airing the story on KHQ Tuesday night, Spokane Police booked 30-year-old Kevin Dopkins into the Spokane County Jail on a charge of Second Degree Robbery.

Dopkins is accused of stealing an iPad from a developmentally disabled man in the parking lot of a Walgreen's on the south hill Tuesday morning. Police said just a few hours after the crime was reported, they were able to track down Dopkins, arrest him and return the iPad to the victim. Police said they found Dopkins hiding in a storage closet in an apartment in Spokane Valley.

Laura Lavoie was with her son Matthew at the Walgreens store on 29th and Grand to get a prescription filled on Tuesday. Matthew, 20, who has Down syndrome just had dental surgery and was waiting in the car listening to Christmas music on his iPad while his mom went in to the pharmacy.

While Laura was inside, she tells us, a man came out of the store and stole Matthew's iPad. According to Laura the man had convinced Matthew to unlock the door and when he did, the suspect took the iPad and ran. Police say that suspect is Dopkins.

Dopkins declined an interview request from KHQ. He will make his first appearance on Wednesday.

PULLMAN, Wash. - Six-year-old Denny Curran should be enjoying his last few days of summer before first grade. He should be teasing his brother, splashing in the pool, giving his parents a hard time about vegetables. Instead, Denny is dead, the victim of a horrific, freak bicycle accident that could happen to your child too. "Denny was an extraordinary child," his father Keith Curran told KHQ.
