Hot Clicks: Parents receive bill charged because son didn't show up to birthday party

KHQ - The parents of 6-year-old Alex Nash were shocked to receive an invoice after their son didn't show up to a birthday party. The couple had RSVP'd to say their son would be there, but on the day of the party, they realized they were double booked and Alex would have to skip the party.

    A man, claiming to be "the spawn of Lucifer," said he stabbed an eight-year-old boy because he "felt like he had to kill a child" and that it was "almost like a sacrifice." 30-year-old Bruce Derek Landahl was arrested Saturday for allegedly entering the HiCo store on Sprague, walking up to an eight-year-old boy playing on an iPad and stabbing him multiple times before the boy's father was able to stop him.

The U.S. Geological Survey says the earthquake hit just after 3 a.m. Monday. There were no immediate reports of damage. According to the agency's website, people in the region reported feeling weak to light shaking.

    David's Bridal is filing for bankruptcy protection but there is no danger for customers who have ordered dresses because operations continuing as normal while the wedding and prom retailer restructures. The bankruptcy filing, the private company said Monday, will wipe out more than $400 million in long-term debt. It has commitments for $60 million in new debtor-in-possession financing and expects to exit Chapter 11 in early January.
