KHQ.com - Not very many people would be ecstatic to have a vacuum salesman show up to their birthday party. That's nothing against vacuum salesman. I adore vacuums and the people who sell them. But if you're asking me who I want to come to my birthday party, a vacuum salesman isn't high on my list. Give me Kurt Russell or someone like that.

But if you hadn't known any better, you'd think that Snake Plissken himself showed up for 14-year-old Dylan Johnson's birthday party recently. But it wasn't. No, it was Kirby vacuum salesman Al Archie, and Johnson couldn't have been happier.

Johnson has had a passion for vacuum cleaners since the age of two. He has autism and growing up, opted for a Dyson or Kirby much before "normal" toys. He even dressed up as a vacuum salesman as a child.

So in an effort to make her son's 14th birthday special, Johnson's mom, Jodie, sent the following email to the Kirby vacuum company:

"I am reaching out to you in hopes for an answer to an unusual request for my son who is autistic. He has always been obsessed with vacuum cleaners. His favorite is the Kirby. He spends hours every day watching videos on his tablet about different Kirby's. When he isn't watching videos about them, he is talking about them. I really would LOVE to get a demo done for him for his birthday. In fact, I am even getting him a cake made that looks like a Kirby vacuum. I am writing to you in hopes that you can get me in touch with a way to get him this demo. I want to be clear that I do not intend on purchasing a Kirby. I was hoping that I could pay a flat fee or thought that maybe if you have salesmen in training that needs to get in practice demos for training purposes. I do not want anything free, but as the mother of a special needs child, it is so hard to find things to make my son happy. I know that having this demo done would just be so awesome, and it would warm my heart to see him so excited to experience that."

The company didn't think twice about helping Jodie out. They sent Dylan a soccer ball, hat and t-shirt with the Kirby logo. But they didn't stop there. Kirby sent Al Archie to perform a vacuum demonstration at Dylan's party!

Archie has been selling vacuums for more than 25 years, and said, "He (Dylan) knew more about Kirby than I did. I have never experienced anything like that."

And to top it all off, at the end of the demonstration, Archie gave Dylan a brand new Kirby vacuum.

Jodie said her son has been so happy since his party.

"I'm going to have the cleanest carpets," she joked.

PULLMAN, Wash. - Six-year-old Denny Curran should be enjoying his last few days of summer before first grade. He should be teasing his brother, splashing in the pool, giving his parents a hard time about vegetables. Instead, Denny is dead, the victim of a horrific, freak bicycle accident that could happen to your child too. "Denny was an extraordinary child," his father Keith Curran told KHQ.
