Police: Bomb found in Coeur d'Alene motel room

COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho -

Update: Coeur d'Alene Police say the incident at Budget Saver Motel has been resolved. Officers are still investigating the incident, but say the scene will be cleared and that it is safe for residents to return to the area.

Coeur d'Alene Police say a bomb was found in a room of the Budget Saver Motel at 16th and Sherman in Coeur d'Alene.

The incident started around 2 o'clock in the afternoon when motel management found a suspicious device inside one of the rooms. Police say that device was similar to a pipe bomb.

Officers say the tenant was in the process of being evicted from the room.

Police are currently waiting for the Spokane regional bomb squad to arrive on the scene and take a closer look at the device. They are also trying to get in contact with the suspect.

16th Street is blocked off from Sherman to Lakeside. Police are advising people to avoid the area.
