POST FALLS, Idaho -

A 40-year-old man wanted for robbery was arrested at a Post Falls restaurant on Sunday after allegedly telling a waitress that he is in the Mafia and if he received poor service he would kill her.

According to the Coeur d'Alene Press, Richard Frank Martin, of Spokane Valley, was booked into the Kootenai County jail after allegedly threatening the employee at G.W. Hunters restaurant at 615 N. Spokane St. around 3:30 p.m.

After a Post Falls police officer arrived at the restaurant because of the alleged threats, Martin was asked to step outside.

While outside, the officer asked Martin if he had any weapons on him, he said he had a pocketknife in his right pants pocket. Based on the threats to the waitress, the officer asked Martin to face away from him with his hands behind his back so the knife could be safely removed. According to the report, the folding knife was completely locked open.

"I asked Richard why he carried his knife that way and he said he has a seizure disorder and it was for protection," the report states. "He also said he could not get it to close. However, we did not find it difficult to close. It should be noted that Richard later told me he has not had a seizure in approximately 10 years because of the medication he is taking."

A short time later, dispatchers confirmed Martin had a warrant in Spokane County for robbery.

Martin was also issued a no-trespass warning and told he is no longer allowed at G.W. Hunters.
