PUNXSUTAWNEY, Pa. - If you're a fan in believing a prognosticating rodent, then we can expect six more weeks of this cold dreary weather to stick around. Punxsutawney Phil was pulled out of his hole Monday morning and "whispered" into the ear of a guy wearing a top hat that winter will stick around for six more weeks because he saw his shadow. >>

SUN PRAIRIE, Wis. - When it comes to weather forecasting groundhogs, there is Punxsutawny Phil and only Punxsutawny Phil. Accept no substitutes. The mayor of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin found that out the hard way Monday morning.

During the Groundhog Day celebration on Monday, the handler of Jimmy the Groundhog was putting him up to the ear of Mayor Jonathan Freund, so Jimmy could "whisper" his weather prediction to the mayor. Of course. But either Jimmy was grumpy from being woken up on a cold February morning, or he just doesn't like the mayor, because instead of giving his little groundhog forecast, he bit the ear of the mayor!

Freund took it in stride, and like a professional went on to say there would be an early spring. However, according to Jimmy's handlers, the mayor got that wrong, and just like Punxsutawny Phil, Jimmy predicted six more weeks of winter.
