BAYVIEW, Idaho - The Kootenai County Sheriff's office is investigating the discovery of human remains near Bayview, ID.

Investigators say a hiker found the remains Wednesday just before 1pm. That hiker called the sheriff's office. Deputies then found the remains in a remote forested area off Cape Horn Road, and hiked into the area where they found several bones that appear to be human.

Due to darkness and weather the investigation was suspended late Wednesday, although a deputy was posted at the scene overnight. The investigation resumed again Thursday morning.
