KHQ.COM - -

RadioShack has released the list of 1,784 stores it says are due to close by March 31. Four of them are in Eastern Washington and North Idaho.

  1. 4808 E Sprague: Future uncertain (see below)
  2. 750 N Division #1009, Northtown Mall: Projected around the end of February
  3. 9656 N Newport Hwy #5A: closing February 16
  4. 3134 E Mullan Ave Ste A, Post Falls: No closing date is set, but closure is expected by March 1

KHQ spoke with an employee of the E. Sprague location who said their store is no longer slated to be closed, although we could not confirm that with corporate office. The employee said the store was going to be closed, but now the corporate office is awaiting further data to make a final decision.

There are 25 total stores closing in Washington (including the E. Sprague location) and 8 store closures in Idaho. The only state where no closures have been announced is Alaska. The state with the most closings is California, with 175, followed by New York and the company's home state of Texas.

The company has not said how many jobs will be lost from the store closings.

The closings are part of RadioShack's bankruptcy filing from this past Thursday.
