PASCO, Wash. - A new lawyer for the family of the man shot and killed by Pasco police officers wants to withdraw a $25 million claim filed against the city after the shooting.

Charles Herrmann, who is representing the family of Antonio Zambrano-Montes, told the Tri-City Herald in an email that the claim was premature and the case needs more investigation into the police department's dealing with people who are mentally ill or don't speak English. The previous claim was filed just three days after the shooting.

Zambrano-Montes, a Mexican immigrant, was shot by three Pasco police officers on February 10. The officers say Zambrano-Montes was throwing rocks at police. The killing was the fourth by law enforcement in Pasco in less than a year.
