Washington State Patrol is investigating a motorcycle crash in Spokane Valley that sent one man to the hospital.

The wreck happened about 8:30 Monday night on Trent Avenue just west of Argonne.

Witnesses say the man was trying to turn onto Trent from Vista when he lost control of the motorcycle and ended up underneath it.

Troopers say the man suffered significant injuries and was taken to Sacred Heart Medical Center.

The man was wearing a helmet but troopers say it was not one approved by the Department of Transportation.

Trent Avenue was closed for about an hour for troopers to reconstruct the scene, but it has since been reopened.

Drugs or alcohol do not appear to be a factor in the crash. The investigation is ongoing.
