SPOKANE, Wash. -

Spokane Police are still searching for a driver who left the scene of a hit and run crash earlier this month.

The crash happened February 12 in front of Rogers High School near the intersection of Wellesley and Helena.

The other driver involved in the crash wasn't able to call 911 herself, not because she was injured, but because she has no voice.

Susan Quaschnik has been battling stage three throat cancer for years, so she couldn't call for help because she doesn't have a voice box.

"Unfortunately with her not having a voice box and not able to talk, she texted me to explain she was in a car wreck. And I kept calling her and calling her and luckily a bystander saw the whole accident and was able to get on the phone," said Emmy Quaschnik, Susan's daughter.

Susan is OK, but the car is not driveable. Emmy says she hopes whoever else was involved in the accident will come forward.

"I've been driving up and down the streets trying to find this vehicle that we're looking for. So far, we haven't had any leads or anything like that. So any help we'd be grateful," said Emmy Quaschnik.

Susan and Emmy Quaschnik believe the other car involved in the accident is a four door, white Pontiac sedan with very dark tinted windows.

If you have information you're asked to call Crime Check at (509) 456-2233.
