POST FALLS, Idaho -  Post Falls Police Officers are worried about "copycats" when it comes to a potentially deadly prank popping up in north Idaho. It's known only as the "Saran Wrap" prank and it first showed up in Shoshone County on Interstate 90 near Kingston. Sheriff's deputies there reported Saran Wrap stretched between two light posts that would bust front windshields when unknowing drivers ripped through it. Now, the prank has surfaced in Post Falls.

On Friday night officers were called to the roundabout near Poleline Avenue and Idaho Street where teenagers were seen stretching Saran Wrap across the road. When officers arrived on scene there were a number of neighbors waiting for police who reported hearing what they thought was a car crash. What had actually happened was a woman drove through the Saran Wrap. She told police it caught her off guard, forcing her slam on her brakes which nearly caused her to crash into a black car quickly leaving the area.

"If a motorcyclist were to come through there at 35 to 40 miles an hour and not see the Saran Wrap and get taken off their bike, someone is going to be really liable for a serious injury if not a fatality," says Captain Pat Knight with the Post Falls Police Department.

Knight told KHQ the black car seen leaving the area is who they're currently searching for. They believe that to be the teens seen setting up the Saran Wrap.

"With something like this, they'll stick around to watch what happens," says Knight. "Because they think it's fun or they get some sort of excitement out of it."

Luckily for the woman who ripped through the Saran Wrap, there was no damage to her car. Though this may be the first time the prank has been pulled in Post Falls, Knight fears they'll see more of it.
