SPOKANE, Wash. - Police have arrested a man for attempting to grab an 11-year-old girl in a park in the Browne's Addition neighborhood of Spokane.

Just after 7 p.m. Tuesday, a group of kids were playing in Coeur d'Alene Park at 2100 W. 3rd Ave. when a man approached them and grabbed an 11-year-old girl. A short distance away the mother of one of the girls saw what was happening and called 911.

Responding officers got a good description of the suspect and found a man matching the description a few blocks away outside a nearby grocery store.

Witnesses who heard the commotion and saw the man walking away were also able to point him out to officers.

The man is described as a Hispanic male between 40-50 years old. He did not have any identification on him and did not speak English.

He was booked into Spokane County Jail on charges of Unlawful Imprisonment. The investigation is ongoing.
