WSU Tri-Cities partners with Swiss university for exchange program

Posted: Updated:

RICHLAND, Wash. (AP) - Washington State University Tri-Cities will begin sending students to study in the largest city in Switzerland in fall 2016.

The university announced the exchange program with Zurich University of Applied Sciences.

After the exchange begins, a program awarding master's degrees from both universities after one-year stints in Zurich and either the Tri-Cities or Pullman will follow in the next two years

Undergraduates will spend up to a semester in Zurich if accepted into the program. The Swiss institution teaches courses primarily in German, but it has a large English-based set of courses as well, so fluency in German won't be needed.

Only a few students from each campus will be allowed participate each semester for the first few years.
