STEVENS COUNTY, Wash. - Thunderstorms Monday night in Stevens County left many without power and resulted in significant damage to structures, forest land and highways. The Stevens County Sheriff's Office says the storms moved through Monday night around 6:00pm with high winds, lightning and heavy rainfall just east of Colville along Highway 20.>>
COLVILLE, Wash. -

On Tuesday, Heather and Leonard Stonecipher spent most of the day, after also spending most of Monday night, cleaning their messy yard.

"Trees were just flying through the air," said Leonard.

The thunderstorm was quick, lasting only about 10 minutes, but also destructive.

"Literally 40 of us banded together to cut trees in each other's driveways" said their neighbor, Chris Bowlin. "It was scary as heck."

But, they are all thankful.

"A tree was falling as I was driving under it," he said. "All I could do was floor the truck...Grace of God is all I can say...I had two children with me and I'm very glad they're OK."

Still in shock from this sudden super storm, these neighbors will continue cleaning up these flying trees, together.

"I wouldn't live anywhere else but I wouldn't expect a tornado in the middle of the mountains," said Chris.

"I can always count on my little community up here, but that's why we're here. We take care of each other," he added.

SPOKANE, Wash. - From the outside, the Repeat Boutique looks like a lot of other thrift shops in Spokane.  Inside, some might describe the stuff for sale as old, used, discarded garbage -- but store manager CJ Curtis sees its potential. And just like the goods in her shop, CJ is on her way to a new life, one far from the one she once lived.

SPOKANE, Wash. - "He told me to pull over, and my jaw just dropped," a Spokane woman, who says a fake police officer tried to pull her over, doesn't want to be named. In fear, this could happen again. "It really scared me and kind of threw me off that night. I don't even want to drive by myself anymore," she said. She tells me that she was driving around North Spokane at night on her way home from work.
